Ravi D. Patel, M.D. is an accomplished clinician, researcher, author and lecturer specializing in complex vitreo retinal surgery and medical retinal conditions. He has been an investigator in national clinical trials studying new therapies for macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and retinal vein occlusion, placing him at the forefront of cutting-edge ophthalmic care. One of his most recent publications, Characterization of Ischemic Index Using Ultra-Widefield Fluorescein Angiography in Patients with Focal and Diffuse Recalcitrant Diabetic Macular Edema shows his commitment to utilizing state of the art diagnostic equipment in the management and treatment of his patients.
Dr. Patel is a graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine, and completed his Ophthalmology Residency and Vitreo retinal Surgical Fellowship at the University of Chicago. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and member of American Society of Retina Specialists. In 2015, the American Society of Retina Specialists acknowledged Dr. Patel as one of the Top 300 Retina Specialists.
